"I've decided to cancel my visit to Alabama," Mike Davis said Tuesday in a short conversation, that cited recent commitments from several running backs as his reasoning. "I've got the Clemson visit the weekend after next (the 14th), then South Carolina and then probably Maryland."
Davis, a four-star running back from Columbia (SC) has had the Wildcats on his short list for some time now. He visited the Wildcats in December and according to source Phil Kornblut, now claims the Wildcats his leader alongside Clemson.
"They've been with me from the start," Davis said on Kentucky. "I really like the guy recruiting me, Coach (Joker) Phillips. He's real down to earth and just a good man. He talks to me differently, I feel comfortable talking to him and it's more of a friendship, ya know. I would really like to play for a coach like him. He's a really good guy."
Kentucky's Joker Phillips may have had a chance to try and "woo" the talented running back Tuesday, but coaches from South Carolina and Clemson are expected to make visits to his school this week as well.
Two weeks ago, Davis made similar statements in regards to Auburn, dropping them off the list when they received commitments from two very highly regarded running backs.
