Travis Outlaw lives in Starkville, Miss. That means the Bulldogs will be playing defense in the coming months, trying to ward out invaders and fend off programs in an attempt to keep a terrific local talent at home.

Plenty of Suitors For Outlaw

Starkville's Travis Outlaw laid the groundwork for a big-time recruitment last spring and summer. While he played on successful AAU teams, his 2002 high school season hasn't gone so well from a team standpoint.

"We aren't doing so well," Outlaw said. "We lost track. We went on a little losing steak. Now, we are starting to pick it back up."

Although Starkville is 12-6, the 6-foot-8 Outlaw is tossing in 25 points a game.

He's dead set on turning his team's season around. "It's going to take a lot of work. I'm going to go out and play all out and see what happens."

Mississippi State, Louisville, Kentucky, Alabama, Memphis and Louisiana State are the programs showing the most interest. Memphis, Mississippi State and Louisville have sent head coaches to watch him play. The high-profile spectators haven't intimidated him. "I just play my game," Outlaw said.

While he's not sure which AAU team he'll travel with this summer, Outlaw will make a return to adidas ABCD Camp.
