The Tigers secured the verbal commitment from one of their top running back targets on Sunday in James Davis. What about the other one? Mike Davis?
According to Mike himself, he did not make a commitment to Clemson.
"No, I did not commit this weekend," Davis said. "I liked the visit, and everything went really good, but I did not commit.
"I'm going to keep an open mind about all this right now. I really don't have a favorite right now. I want to wait until after my official visits."
Davis said the highlight of the weekend was running down the hill on Saturday.
"I really liked that," said Davis. "That was great. And then talking to the coaches, they really seem like they are emphasizing running the ball a lot more, and I like that."
There has been the thought that Mike would not commit to Clemson if James did before him. Is that true?
"No absolutely not," said Davis. "Me and James talked a good bit this weekend, we get along really good."
Davis has remaining visits with South Carolina next weekend, and one to Maryland the weekend after that. As of right now, both of those visits are on. He is also expecting several in-home visits this upcoming week.
Finally, Davis was hosted this weekend by Michael Hamlin.
We will continue to keep you updated on Mike Davis, right up through signing day
