For the last year, I've been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to build a great website and magazine for Kentucky fans. InsideKentucky has grown tremendously and our once small community has grown into a respectable media outlet capable of delivering breaking news and in-depth features on the players we know and love. InsideKentucky has been a true growth experience, and our entire team has worked tirelessly to bring Kentucky fans the best of both online and print publishing, as well as a thriving online message board community.
Fortunately for Kentucky fans, things are about to get even better! Beginning in March of 2005, InsideKentucky will officially become Kentucky Sports Report. As many of you know, KSR has been a part of the Rivals network for the last few years. As of March, they are officially making the jump to the Scout.com Network and we couldn't be happier. KSR is one of the giants of collegiate online communities, and holds legendary status among the great college basketball communities on the internet. By joining the Scout.com network, KSR will take it's rightful place in the pantheon of blue ribbon basketball sites alongside InsideCarolina, Bruin Report Online, Phog.net, GoJackets.com, and others.
Along with KSR and founder Steve John, we'll also be graced with two more legends of Kentucky sports media. Jim Tyree and Larry Vaught will be a part of the new editorial staff of Kentucky Sports Report. This team will be a Kentucky fan's dream! I'll be a part of this talented group as well as I focus my efforts on my strengths, which are marketing, advertising, and merchandising for this online juggernaut.
When we first built InsideKentucky, our goals were twofold: First, to build the best Kentucky website and magazine possible. Secondly, to always make sure we are putting out the best possible product for our users and subscribers. With Kentucky Sports Report coming aboard, I'm highly confident that we'll be able to over-achieve in our pursuit of those goals. I will guarantee you that our product will be better and our community will be stronger through the merging of these entities.
I'm sure you'll have lots of questions over the coming days, and we'll do our best to answer them all. You can always reach me personally at firstname.lastname@example.org. As you might expect, some things will change, others won't, but our commitment to providing you with a great community will always be paramount in our minds.
I'm thankful to you all for helping us build a great website here at InsideKentucky, and I'm looking forward to being a part of the new Kentucky Sports Report team. GO CATS!!!
