UofL or UK for St.X's Joseph Tronzo?

The Wildcats have had mild success in the all important walk-on game. One kid that is a valuable target is All-State first teamer, Joseph Tronzo.

"It's pretty much down to U of L or UK right now," Tronzo told InsidetheVille.com. "They have both invited me as a preferred walkon, so I'll wait until signing day to see how things stand up at both places before making a decision."

The 5-foot-11, 245-pound Joseph Tronzo told ITV that he is communicating with U of L assistant head coach Greg Nord about the opportunities available to him.

"Coach Nord told me that I could come in and compete for a starting spot at fullback because they don't have a true fullback for next year," explained Tronzo. "If I did that would mean that in two-back sets I could block for Michael [Bush] or Kolby [Smith]. It's pretty humbling to know that I have a chance to come in to one of the top programs in the country and compete for a starting spot."

He's heard of similar opportunities at Kentucky from the Wildcats new offensive coordinator Joker Phillips.

"The only fullbacks that they have will both be seniors, so they are looking for someone to come in and possibly redshirt or be on special teams and then compete for fullback the next year," Tronzo said.

Desite receiving a scholarship from Georgetown College, Tronzo believes that he has the ability and determination to play at either Louisville or Kentucky.

"I visited Georgetown and I really liked everything about the school, but I think that I can compete on the Division I and highest level," said Tronzo, who was also a 2nd Team choice by the Associated Press.

While he won't need to make a decision by National Signing Day on February 3rd, Tronzo hinted that his choice may be soon coming.

"I'm not in a hurry, but I'm starting to lose sleep over it," Tronzo explained. "I'm not going to pressure myself into making a decision just to make one, but I think I'll see what happens on signing day and go from there."

NOTE: Louisville has also expressed an interest in having St. X punter Patrick Mossholder, a 3rd Team All-State selection by the Associated Press, compete for a roster spot during fall camp.
