Team records and series notes
  • Kentucky is now 18-2 overall and has won eight in a row. UK is 9-0 in the Southeastern Conference. Florida is 14-6 overall and the Gators are 6-3 in the SEC.
  • Kentucky has won 18 consecutive Southeastern Conference games, including the 2004 SEC Tournament. UK has won 10 straight SEC home games.
  • In the last three seasons, Kentucky is 44-3 against SEC opponents, including league tournament action.
  • Kentucky leads the series 84-24 and has won the last eight meetings. UK is 43-6 against Florida in games played in Lexington.

    Team game notes

  • Key run: trailing 52-50, Kentucky went on a 14-2 run for a 64-54 lead. All three of Rajon Rondo's baskets during the game came during the key run.
  • Down the stretch, UK made six of seven free throws to preserve the lead.
  • Kentucky shot 57.7 percent from the field in the second half and committed just three turnovers in the second stanza.
  • Kentucky won points in the paint, 38-26, and led the rebounding 34-27.
  • Kentucky plays host to Georgia on Saturday at 3 p.m. in a game that will be televised regionally by JP Sports.

    UK individual game notes

  • Rajon Rondo had one of his best games with 14 points, including a career-best 8-of-10 at the free throw line. He added a career-high seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
  • With three steals tonight, Rondo has 50 thefts for the season, breaking the Kentucky freshman season record of 47 steals by Keith Bogans (1999-2000). Rondo has at least one steal in every game this season.
  • With 11 points tonight, Chuck Hayes now has 1,058 points in his career, moving past Erik Daniels (1,053) for 46th place on the UK career scoring list. Hayes nine rebounds give him 826 boards in his career, moving past Bob Burrow (823) for ninth place on the UK career rebounding chart.
