The annual Kentucky Blue/White Spring Football Game will be played in a regular-game format this year, Coach Rich Brooks has announced.
The game will feature the first-team offense and defense (Blue) vs. the second-team offense and defense (White). Because of the limited number of players available, the coaching staff had considered having an offense vs. defense scrimmage. There will be some special-teams action, although every special-teams down might not be played, Brooks noted.
The game is slated to begin Saturday at 1 p.m. at Commonwealth Stadium. Admission and parking are free to everyone and are first-come, first-served.
Fans are invited to interview for Kentucky football television commercials beginning at 10 a.m. (see more information below). The Wildcat Refuge play area for children will open at 11 a.m. at its usual location outside Gate 9.
The UK alumni will play their annual flag football game during halftime of the Blue/White contest.
WLAP Radio (630 on the AM dial) will have extensive coverage of the Blue/White Game. WLAP's broadcast will begin at noon.
