Of the many quarterbacks looking to make a name for themselves this summer, none appears to be in more of a panic mode then Flower Mound High School gunslinger, Nick Stephens.
Having seen his only high school appearence at the junior varsity level because of the Texas court system, Stephens has a bit of a chip on his shoulder as he enters camps this summer.
So it comes as no surprise, he's been outdueling everyone he's encountered in the camp scene this summer, grading out as the second highest ranked quarterback out of the 70 that attended Nike.
"I didn't play last year as a junior," Nick Stephens said after the Nike camp. "I was at (Flower Mound) Marcus as a freshman and the fall of my sophomore year, but then I transferred out."
The schools have quietly flocked to Flower Mound in hopes of getting in on this hidden gem. UTEP was the first school to offer and several other are looking to follow suit. Among those is Kentucky, whom allegedly offered a scholarship to Stephens today.
"I've been getting mail from all over the Southwest - Baylor, Oklahom State, Colorado State, Tulsa, Texas," Stephens said. "Those are just a few. I'm still getting a lot of letters from different colleges."
Stephens is rumored to be looking to stay close to home.
