"The trip was good," said Mitchell. "They're up there (on my list)."
While he's a man of relatively few words, Mitchell is all business in the trenches, which is why his list appears to be getting longer before it gets any shorter.
"Right now a lot of schools are coming at me; a lot of schools are trying to get involved," said Mitchell. "Miami (is one)- I should visit there sometime in the next month, on an official. Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and Kansas (are other schools showing interest)."
Miami head coach Frank Haith, who took over the Hurricanes last season, has done an excellent job in getting involved with many of the top players. Mitchell is just the latest one to show interest in the ACC school. However, as Mitchell indicated, this list is long and rich with big name programs.
Mitchell indicated that he's going to play out his summer on the AAU circuit with the Metro Hawks and see how things shake out with his recruitment. He'll also make a return to the Nike Camp in Indianapolis in July.
Shortly after returning from his visit to Marquette, Mitchell joined his Mount Vernon teammates for the IS8 League playoffs, scoring 36 points in a 90-89 overtime loss to Aneesa's Sports on Saturday afternoon. So Mitchell's run at IS8 is over now but he can also concentrate more fully on his recruiting process.
