Dominic McGuire, 6-6 JR SF San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln, is an athletic wing with a very versatile game. He's an excellent slasher, but also defends, passes and rebounds very well. We saw him recently in a CIF playoff game and came away very impressed. He has a good shot at being our #1 small forward when we update our rankings after the spring.

We spoke with McGuire last night and he told us the three schools he likes right now are Oregon St., Oklahoma and Houston. Those three have been showing him the most interest to date.

McGuire said that Oregon St. has been to a game and a practice, while Arizona and New Mexico have each come by for a practice.

When asked if there was a school he'd like to hear from, McGuire replied, "North Carolina. That was the school I liked growing up." He also mentioned Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA and Cal as schools that would be of interest to him.

McGuire told us that early playing time would be a primary consideration in his decision. He said that geographical location does not matter to him. When we asked if he had a preference in terms of the level of play, McGuire said, "I want to play at a big school."

McGuire said that he currently has a GPA around 2.7 and he'll take the SAT in May.
