The 6-9, 220-pound junior forward from Xaverian (N.Y.) still lists Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Syracuse and Villanova high atop his list, but he's also added St. John's and Pittsburgh to the mix.
Taft plans to sit down with his coach in the next couple of weeks and schedule a few visits, including a weekend trip to see both Duke and UNC.
"My list has changed a little because I have to give schools like Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Villanova some respect since they are the main schools that come see me play," Taft said. "UNC and Georgia Tech come a lot, too."
Taft is an athletic forward who is able to step out and knock down the 15-footer. He needs to get stronger to be able to defend at the next level. After a loss to Rice last week, he has started to hit the weight room in an effort to add some strength and bulk to his slender frame. He'll get a chance to prove he's one of the top frontline players in the country this summer when he suits up for the Gauchos on the AAU circuit.
Taft averaged 21 points and 12 boards this season and has said in the past that Duke is his favorite. Arizona and Georgia Tech are also involved, but don't seem to be a major consideration at this time.
