Abren Might Play; Smith Doubtful
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- There was good news and bad news on the injury front today as Coach Rich Brooks announced that defensive tackle Ricky Abren might play Saturday against Florida, but cornerback Bo Smith was doubtful for the game. Abren, a sophomore from Hopkinsville, Ky., has been sidelined since August because of a dislocated wrist. He has seen limited practice action this week while wearing a protective cast. Abren was a Freshman All-American last season after making 26 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss, and returning an interception for a touchdown at Tennessee. Smith, a junior from Owensboro, Ky., has started all three games at cornerback and ranks third on the team in tackles with 21. He also intercepted a pass in the win over Idaho State. However, he has been troubled by a shoulder injury and will undergo MRI testing this week.
