A pair of Texas standouts both have Kentucky on their list entering the spring/summer AAU circuit.
Taurean "Tack Minor and Daniel Gibson, teammates on Houston Hoops, have shown flashes of brilliance in the Houston Kingwood Classic this weekend.
Minor, a 5-foot-11 point guard considered among the top three in his 2003 class, poured in 27 points against perennial AAU power the SoCal All-Stars. He's known as a both a strong perimeter shooter and penetrator. He averaged 26 points and six assists per game last year as a junior at Washington High School.
Minor told TheInsiders' Dave Telep he's considering Kentucky, Cincinnati, Oklahoma, Texas, LSU and others.
Gibson is a 6-3 combo guard who may emerge as the best in the class of 2004. He's considered a smart, skilled and athletic player who averaged 27 points as a sophomore. His specialty is slashing and finishing plays at this point in time.
Gibson had 16 points, six rebounds and six assists against the SoCal All-Stars, and later told Telep he's being pursued by the likes of Texas, Kentucky and Arizona.
