The Wildcats are coming off an 84-38 rout of Stetson on Tuesday. The Cats set a school record by holding the Hatters to just 18 percent shooting (9-of-50) from the field in the game, including 10.3 percent (3-of-29) in the second half.

Junior guard Jenny Pfeiffer (N. Vernon, Ind.) led three players in double digits with a game-high 21 points, including five three-pointers. Following in the scoring column was freshman Carly Ormerod (Louisville, Ky.) with 15 points and Samantha Mahoney (Detroit) with 10. Sophomore forward/center Eleia Roddy (Columbus, Ohio) again led the Cats on the boards with a game-high 12 rebounds. It was her second consecutive game with 12 boards.

"We are excited about the opportunity to compete in the Pepperdine Classic," UK Coach Mickie DeMoss said. "I think these road trips and these tournaments are good for the young players because they bond on the road. We grew up a lot when we went to St. Thomas last year. They are also tested on an opponent's court and Indiana State has a very good basketball team."

The Cats are 74-32 in regular-season tournaments all-time with 24 tournament titles. This marks the second time UK has participated in the Pepperdine Classic. The Wildcats fell to Missouri in the first round and Houston in the consolation game in 2000. The Wildcats last regular-season tournament title came during the 2001-02 season when they claimed the Dartmouth Blue Sky Restaurant Group Classic.

This is the third overall meeting between UK and Indiana State in the all-time series, with the Wildcats leading 2-0. The teams' last meeting came in 1982 when UK defeated the Sycamores 87-43 in Lexington. Kentucky is 10-5 all-time vs. teams from Indiana State's Missouri Valley Conference.

The Sycamores enter Friday's game with a 2-1 record on the season. They are coming off a 98-59 thrashing of Wisconsin-Green Bay last Friday. Five players scored in double figures, led by Lisa Verhoff 's 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting from behind the arc.

Indiana State is led by Jim Wiedie who is in his sixth season as the head coach of the

Sycamores. He brings a career record of 83-61 into the Pepperdine Classic. This is his first career meeting against Kentucky and the Southeastern Conference.
