Alleyne comes up big in 73-46 Catlanta win

Junior center Shagari Alleyne scored a career high 16 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out three assists to lead Kentucky to a road victory over Georgia State in Atlanta.

Shagari Alleyne and Joe Crawford came off the bench to fuel a 22-3 run that erased an early 11-0 lead by Georgia State. After taking a 30-24 lead at the half Kentucky outscored the home team 43-22 in the second half, as Kentucky cruised to a 73-46 victory in Atlanta.

Alleyne scored a career high 16 points, and Crawford added 14 to pace a potent Kentucky bench attack The Wildcats had 46 bench points, equaling the Georgia State's scoring for the game.

Ramel Bradley, Sheray Thomas and Crawford each ripped down seven rebounds, as Kentucky won the battle of the boards 45-23. Bradley led Kentucky with five assists.

After shooting blanks early the Wildcats rebounded to shoot 52% from the field for the game, including 43% from behind the arc. The Kentucky defense held Georgia State to 36% from the field, including 3-17 from three-point range.

Rashard Chase paced Georgia State with 19 points.

Kentucky played without starting point guard, and all america candidate, Rajon Rondo. Rondo sat out the game with strep throat.
