UK reviewed the proposals of seven national search firms before selecting Carr Sports Associates, Inc. from the final group of three. UK president Lee Tood Jr. said,"Carr (Sports Associates) was selected because of its experience in athletics director searches for several schools across the country." Among the schools Carr found AD's for were North Carolina State, Iowa State, South Florida, Evansville and more. The University of Maryland used Carr's services to find Head coaches in Football and women's basketball.
"Carr Sports Associates, Inc. presented an impressive assessment and strategy proposal for the athletics director search process," said Todd. "The strategy included starting the search immediately in order to expedite the search process. In addition, the firm offered the most cost effective proposal."
UK and Carr Sports Associates, Inc. have a fixed fee contract of $45,000 plus expenses. By the end of July, the firm should have a candidate for Athletic Director with feedback from UK Athletics Director Advisory Group. Lee Todd Jr. hopes to announce the new Athletic Director in early August.
