Fidler Enjoys Visit to Lexington

The University of Kentucky welcomed a host of committed stars in addition to uncommitted prospects Corey Peters, Jeff Adams and Seddrick Holloway. Among those that made the trek to Lexington is the Wildcats future gunslinger, Will Fidler.

"Everything went great," Fidler said. "Friday we went to dinner at Keeneland, got a chance to meet all the other recruits. Saturday we toured the campus, went to the game and we had individual meetings with the coaches. Sunday, we had brunch at Coach Brooks' house and just got acquainted as a class."

The individual meeting with Coach Roper discussed various things, including his early enrollment.

"We talked about just getting down the offense," Fidler added. "He went through what was expected of me in the spring and when I get to UK."

Fidler and the host of other recruits took in the basketball 'Cats win over Louisville on Saturday. Asked what was his impressions of the upset victory over the in-state rival?

"Everyone all week was talking about how Kentucky was going to get beat," Fidler explained. "I had told everyone that we were gonna win. It was great to see them finally play well."

Fidler will see plenty more basketball action for the 2005-2006 season. The high school senior is set to graduate early and will be heading back to Lexington in January.

"Everything is ready to go as far as finishing high school early," Fidler added. "I just gotta finish this one class. It's not so much a matter of if I will be done, it's a matter of when I'll be done."

Much has been made about the Wildcats recruiting efforts this year and Will Fidler is very much apart of that excitement. The 6-foot-4, 190 pound gunslinger from Henderson Co. (Ky.) HS was one of the early verbal commitments to 2005.

"It seems like we've got a really good class coming in," Fidler said. "We seem to really get along very well and 'click' well as teammates. It's almost as if we've been playing with each other for years, as if we were all old high school teammates."
