Hometown Star Andre Woodson Interested in Kentucky

You may not know the name yet, but Andre Woodson is one of the very best signal callers in the country. He is from the Bluegrass State. Woodson has size and a big arm. He is also quite a basketball player.

One of the nation's top quarterbacks and a likely candidate for the prestigious Elite 11 camp is Andre Woodson from Radcliff (Ky.) North Hardin High School. Woodson has great size (6-5, 220) and a big arm.

"My arm and accuracy are my two best things," said Woodson. "I can step up and make all the throws. I am a pocket passer with a very strong arm. I have some touch and I can throw just about every route."

Last season as a junior, Woodson was 92 of 198 for almost 1,500 yards and 18 touchdown passes. He is also a basketball standout where he averaged 17 points per game playing the small forward position. According to Woodson, he has scholarship offers from Kentucky, Arkansas and Penn State.

"Kentucky and Penn State are my top two teams and my favorites. I really like the atmosphere in Kentucky and the coaching staff. I have met with Coach (Guy) Morris and I really like those guys.

"I also love Penn State, especially the atmosphere there. They have been my favorite for a while. I went to the NIKE camp there. My mom is also from Pennsylvania.

"The main thing I am looking at is playing time. I do not mind red-shirting but I would like to play after that. The style of offense is important too."
