Hickson confirms school list

Coming into the ABCD camp, James Hickson had built a big-time reputation on the court. And that's the way Hickson prefers to keep it that way -- he would rather let his actions speak loudly while his mouth stays silent when discussing his recruiting process.

James Hickson, 6-foot-9 and 235 pounds, is a good athlete who know how to score around the basket. He is a highly rated player that is likely to garner much attention this summer and plenty of votes when selection for All Star games take place next year.

The rising senior from Marietta, Georgia has always maintained he is open in his recruiting process. In an event played here in the New York area two months ago, Hickson downplayed a list of schools. He did so this week to both Scout.com's Jeff Goodman and myself.

Hickson told Goodman earlier this week that Florida, Georgetown and Kentucky were recruiting him the hardest. But he was also interested in Louisville, Georgia, Miami, and Illinois. When approached with the list, Hickson affirmed his recent school list and also his openess to any school interested in him.

James stated to Goodman: "I'm trying to focus on July and not college recruiting."

Hickson indicated the same feelings also to us. He is a modest athlete too but very confident in his ability. He has no fear in taking the ball to the basket and doesn't mind mixing it up inside the paint.

It's likely that Hickson won't make any decision on a final list of schools until August.
