Decision looms for Barnes

Barnes took a visit to the University of Kentucky on the last weekend in September. Barnes was hosted by senior forward, Bobby Perry. The visit went well, as expected. "It was a good visit. I had a lot of fun with the players and the staff. I got to see a lot of things," said Barnes.

It was the usual suspects when Chris discussed what stood out most about his trip to Lexington. "The tradition and the program (stood out). The school and the academic center were impressive," Barnes continued.

Barnes has now completed his official visits, after taking a visit to Oklahoma this weekend. Barnes has visited Kentucky, Oklahoma, Wichita State, and Georgia. And now it's decision time. Does anybody lead? "I don't have a leader right now, I'm just working it out."

"I'm looking for a school that I can go in and graduate," Barnes stated. "I want to play on a good team that I can win a national championship with," he continued.

Kentucky fits that criteria. Adding Barnes along with some of the other prospects that Coach Smith is recruiting will give him that opportunity. Barnes could provide much needed depth to Kentucky's front court. His strength and rebounding prowess should get him early looks by the staff of whatever school he chooses.
