"I just wanted to call you and let you know that I'm a Kentucky Wildcat," Thomas said. "Coach Phillips called me back and said he's excited to get me here."
"He said they had meetings and stuff all day and was gonna wait to get back to me until tonight," Thomas said. "But I'm a happy kid, now that I'm a Wildcat, baby."
Thomas is a 6-foot-3, 200 pound safety that the ‘Cats invision as a linebacker at the next level. He was offered, along with teammate Antwane Glenn, a few weeks ago.
"I like the program because the fans, the time is right for me," Thomas said. "The whole relationship basically with the football team is great, but I just feel this program is rising at the right time."
"They are going to another bowl game. I just think their program," Thomas added, "it's ready to explode."
Thomas and Glenn are teammates of 3-star wide receiver Markish Jones, a Clemson commitment, at Broome High School. Thomas had offers from Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State, with interest from South Carolina, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, East Carolina and Clemson.
"I'm real good in coverage," Thomas said. "I'm a headhunter and I like covering the deep ball. Either between linebacker and safety."
