Boswell Eyeing Bowl Game

2006 University of Kentucky signee Lamarckus Boswell is hopeful that he'll be able to practice with the Wildcats when bowl preparations start.

"I'm a grayshirt," Boswell said. "I am gonna try and enroll in January, hopefully. I am just studying real hard every day, trying to do well on this test."

"If I get my score up, I'll be able to practice with the team for the bowl."

The 5-foot-10, 165 pound wide receiver broke several records at Greenville (SC) HS, where he graduated this past year. In his four year career, Boswell nearly amassed over 5,000 yards and scored over 50 touchdowns.

"I've been in Lexington since the summer," Boswell said. "I've been working out and trying to get faster and stronger. I will be ready to go once I take the test."

Ranked as one of the top 25 players as a senior by SuperPrep after a junior campaign that saw him be named Regional Player of the Year and an All-America by Student Sports magazine when he totaled 131 receptions for 2,091 yards and 25 scores, Boswell is expected to help add additional depth.

"Marckus is tough as nails," Boswell's high school coach, Jim Sosebee said. "He has great hands, makes tough catches, and is great with the ball after the catch. He's a competitor who wants the ball in the tough time of the game."

Boswell chose the Wildcats over a a scholarship from Steve Spurrier and the Gamecocks, who offered on Signing Day. Florida State and Miami also heavily recruited Boswell after committing to Kentucky.
