"I still am committed to West Virginia," Victor Anderson said. "I just wanna make sure I have some back-up options, just in case Coach Rod leaves. I'm not sure what's going. I still like West Virginia, alot, I just wanna make sure and take some of my visits, just in case things the coaching staff doesn't return."
Among the visits the four-star, 5-foot-9, 186 pound running back intends on visiting is Kentucky, Louisville, South Florida and Michigan. The Wildcats are up first this weekend.
"Joker Phillips has been recruiting me and he's been by the school earlier this week," Anderson explained. "He actually talked to me earlier today on the phone, just wanting to see how I was doing."
On his visit to St. Xavier high school, the UK offensive coordinator touched on many subjects. "He talked about the program and how they are doing," Anderson explained. "He said they are getting some good recruits in and they are really doing some good things. They have that bowl game coming up and right now, they are really excited about that."
The next visit could be Louisville, 'sometime after Christmas.' He will also look to make visits to South Florida and Michigan in January.
"I actually know the baseball coach down at South Florida and he wants me to come down there and play for him," Anderson said. "It got me thinking that I want to play both sports in college. Just something that's come up."
So if Coach Rodriguez does end up leaving for Alabama, would the St. X record holder for touchdowns be thinking about Alabama.
"I would say I lean more to UK because of my relationship with Coach (Joker) Phillips. I just feel more comfortable with Kentucky's coaches than Louisville's. Kentucky did great this season and I think Coach Brooks has got their program back on the right track."
