Ramel Bradley is a typical New York City kid with all the confidence in the world. He feels like he can compete and play against anybody, something that I really like about him. But that can also be his downfall because that attitude can get him in trouble. At times he probably tries to do a little too much.
I like his fire, intensity and competitiveness. I think he really enjoys playing and likes to compete, which it takes to be a great player.
I wish that we could take some of his energy and emotion and put into Randolph Morris or Joe Crawford for them to have that type attitude. Kentucky really needs someone to play with that same kind of reckless abandon on the front line that Ramel does in the backcourt. I think Ramel brings that kind of toughness that Kentucky doesn't have at other spots. He does bring an attitude of toughness in a big way. He is a New York City guy and he wants to do well and wants everybody to see him do well.
You need him to play well, too. He is going to provide energy and toughness, but also when he is playing within his game he is a guy capable of taking and making big shots. I don't know how many other guys on this team will be willing to take big shots when the game is on the line and believe they can make them. I think it is important he is in the mix and his attitude is good.
Kentucky really needs him to play well, especially against those talented SEC players. His leadership and toughness is vital. He has been through the wars. It is important from an effort standpoint to this team that he goes out and plays hard each and every night, which he usually does for the most part.
