Kentucky's players are obviously enjoying the current 10-game win streak, especially since the Wildcats never won more than five straight games last year or nine the year before.
But is Kentucky winning because it has better team chemistry than it has had the past two years or has the winning created better chemistry?
"That is tough. It is a little bit of both of them. I think why we are winning is because we do like each other. It is fun to play with each other this year. But since we are having fun that is one reason we are winning. There is not one selfish person on this team. We all genuinely like each other," junior center Randolph Morris said.
"Everything is a lot easier when you are winning. When you are winning, things just seem to go your way. I think you learn how to win and put yourself in better positions," junior Joe Crawford, UK's leading scorer in Southeastern Conference play, said. "I think we are a lot closer this year. We have been playing with each other for three years. We have great freshmen and we are trying to teach them how to play UK basketball. Everything is working out fine."
Crawford thinks the more Kentucky wins, the easier it is to keep winning.
"You don't have that pressure on you of having to win if you have a good streak going. You can just focus on winning the next game," Crawford said. "We couldn't do that last year. We felt more pressure. It was kind of hard to get out of that funk last year. This year we haven't had that problem."
Morris isn't as convinced that winning helps that much in the next game.
"We only look at next game. We don't focus on our win streak. The biggest thing we are doing is trying to get better every practice for the next game. Once a game is over, we forget about it and move on," Morris said. "There is no pressure at all. I think that is one of the reasons we are playing so confident right now. We don't let things bother us like maybe we did last year."
Still, Crawford says a positive attitude throughout the team has been a huge key to UK's success.
"We have been playing well. We have bought into the system and know that it works. When we did that, it has all been positive. When things are positive, you just play better," Crawford said.
