KSR had three, count ‘em three magazine writers that had been recognized by a group of their peers and nominated for the annual National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame in Kentucky award.
The Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA) was formed in 1959 to honor the best regional sportscasters and sportswriters. There have been some pretty big names associated with the honor in the past. Chris Berman of ESPN and Peter Gammons have received the honor. Dave Anderson, Pulitzer Prize Winner from The New York Times, and Jack Buck, a renowned sportscaster from CBS have also received the award.
The purpose of the NSSA is to recognize the Sportscasters and Sportswriters of the United States for their leadership, devotion, and contributions in their regional sports-writing fields.
Keith Taylor had been nominated for the first time. In addition to the work he does for KSR's website and magazine, Keith is the full-time sports editor for the Winchester Sun. He missed the award this go around but at his young age, he is going to have many, many more opportunities to win this award. He does a great job for us in the magazine and on the website and we are proud to have him.
Ryan Lemond is recognizable to almost everyone in Lexington as the popular sportscaster for WLEX-18. He has been writing for KSR's magazine since its inception.
Congratulations to all three!
