Tennessee prospect looks for a UK offer

A Tennessee high school quarterback, who may play wide receiver or DB at the collegiate level, is headed to football camp this weekend looking to pick up an offer from the Kentucky Wildcats.

Quarterback/Athlete Randall Cobb from Alcoa (TN) is taking a strong look at the University of Kentucky football program. Currently he has an offer from Middle Tennessee State University, and is working hard in summer camps trying to earn a few more offers. "I just got back from the Wake Forest camp, I really enjoyed it a lot. I am headed to the Kentucky camp Friday, and then to Vanderbilt on Saturday." Cobb lists Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and West Virginia as the programs he has the most interest in.

Cobb plays quarterback at the high school level, but very well might play reciever or defensive back at the college level. "Middle Tennessee is recruiting me as a quarterback, and everyone else is recruiting me as a reciever or DB." The chance to play quarterback will not likely effect his final decision. "I really don't care what I play, I really just want to get on the field." Cobb explained that he has really developed as a quaterback since switching positions. "I have gotten a lot better at throwing the ball and reading defenses. I am a dual threat quarterback, I can kill you with my arm or with my legs."

Right now he does not have a favorite, althought he lists Kentucky as very high. "I really like their program, my best friend, Kyrus Lanxter was a member of the class of 2007 and would love the oppurtunity to play with him." Randall indicated that if any school offered him he would not commit on the spot.

"Right now, I am just trying to get out to the Kentucky camp, work hard and show them what I got, and try to get an offer. I wouldn't commit on the spot if they offered, I really just want to sit back and see what happens. I'd like to make my decision before the season is over, but I am not going to rush it if things don't feel right." Cobb is being recruited by Coach Sanders of the UK staff.
