The rest of them would have worked, but he is at another level because he basically has no family. He does not slow down for anything. Maybe a Donovan, Izzo or Barnes would have snagged a few players because of name recognition, but no one is outworking Billy Gillispie right now."
The coach says Kentucky is also being "smart" about its recruiting and targeting players it is more likely to sign. He noted how UK concentrated on a player like Chicago's DeAndre Liggins, who verbally committed, rather than going after a player like Hopkinsville junior Scotty Hopson, who verbally committed to Mississippi State last year.
"Those guys at Kentucky know what they are doing. They know where the best use of their time is," the coach said. "They won't get every player, but they are going to get a lot."
