VAUGHT: Tamme enjoying married life

Kentucky tight end Jacob Tamme didn't need long to find one huge benefit from being married. "Allison and I have been having fun. We are eating very good, too. She is quite the cook. It is like going home to something off the Food Network every night," Tamme said. "It has been good for me, and definitely a lot different from living with a group of guys."

Tamme proposed to his high school sweetheart the day after the Music City Bowl and they were married in June.

He knows going through a season with a wife will be different for him, but also a big change for his new bride.

"She hasn't lived with me during a season yet to see the ups and downs. She will definitely get to see it when I am upset," he said. "But I have a feeling we are going to have a lot of fun this year, so it will be good with us.

"I won't have to make microwave dinners. We will always do something fun for dinner no matter what. It won't be on my shoulders any more to worry about that like it was when I was living with a bunch of guys."

Of course, he has had to make some adjustments to his lifestyle.

"It used to be if there was a towel laying out in the bathroom, if it didn't bother me, it didn't really matter to me," he said. "But as all married people know, if your spouse cares about it, then you need to pick it up.

"But that has been good for me. I love to be organized, but sometimes I just need somebody to help me be organized, and she is perfect for that. It keeps my life running smoother to be around her."

So does Tamme have daily chores like laundry and maybe vacuuming or cleaning? "That is confidential," he laughed and said.
