The Wildcats continue to reap the benefits of its victory over number-one ranked LSU two weeks ago. Monday, it landed its fourth verbal commitment from that weekend's visitor list, when Byrnes (SC) defensive back Cartier Rice went public with his pledge.
"I have committed to the University of Kentucky," Rice said. "Everything was great on my visit. It's a great opportunity for me. I liked everything about the school. I feel like it's a great place for me to shine as a person and as a student. The facilities were phenomenal and I really liked the academic center."
The 5-foot-11, 175 pound defensive back chose the Wildcats over Rutgers, Auburn, Michigan State, Louisville and NC State. He had drawn interest from in-state Clemson and South Carolina, but never gave serious consideration to staying close to home.
"I really like the relationships between the players and the coaches," Rice added. "You can tell everyone respects each other and everyone likes each other."
"I just think it's the best place for me as a person and as a player," Rice said. "I just wanna be a Wildcat."
