Ohio Athlete Holds Wildcats Offer

One of Ohio's top prospects is now holding a Wildcat football offer. We check in with this receiver / safety prospect to get the latest.

Pickerington Central High School's Jamie Wood has all the tools college coaches are looking for. Standing 6-foot-2, 190-pounds Woods is the complete package of student and athlete. Holding an offer from the University of Kentucky has Wood's interest and for good reason.

As a junior Wood's posted offensive numbers of 25 catches for 550 yards and 8 touchdowns. On defense he had 65 total tackles with 15 pass breakups and 1 interception. With his combination of size and speed Wood's has the makings of a top college player.

"I've already been to a Junior Day at Northwestern and will also be visiting Ohio State and Cincinnati for their junior days in the coming weeks."

At this time Kentucky is leaving the door open as far as a position goes.

"Kentucky has told me they see me as a safety but they won't shut the door on looking at me as a wide receiver either."

Wood's has the following offers at this time. Illinois, Stanford, Northwestern, Indiana, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Miami Ohio and Akron.
