Dunbar's Greene picks up offer

When Kentucky Sports Report's Chris Layton asked Jerrell Greene what he liked about Kentucky he said, "It's where I was born and raised."

Class of 2009's Jerrell Greene, of Dunbar High School in Lexington, is excited about his first offer. Jerrell is getting attention from a lot of schools, but his first offer is nice because it was from the hometown Kentucky Wildcats.

When asked what he liked about Kentucky Jerrell said, "It's where I was born and raised."

Jerrell is a powerful running back with a good frame listed at 6'1 220 lbs. He looks to make a visit tonight to watch the Wildcats take on Ole Miss at Rupp Arena.

"I like how they've shown a lot of people they can be good and I like the coaches." said Jerrell of the Wildcats. He also commented on Coach Chuck Smith, "He's real cool."

Although the Cats were the first offer he is receiving from several other schools. He reported he was receiving mail and junior day invites from, "Vanderbilt, Marshall, Louisville, Middle Tennessee State, and Western Kentucky."

Jerrell comments on his playing abilities, "I have good size, I'm fast, I'm strong and I think I see the field very well." Jerrell shared that plans to work on his rushing game. "Try to run straight ahead and run through the hole more." explained Greene of areas he wants to improve.

Jerrell is a great prospect for the Cats and it is even more special he is a local guy. He seems very interested in Kentucky and even commented about the possibility of trying to have the recruiting process done before his senior season. As is with any quality prospect there will be fierce competition for this kid, but I think it's safe to say he likes the hometown.
