Louisville Central prospect Ridge Wilson is getting attention from many programs across the country. On Wednesday night he checked in with Kentucky Sports Report to talk about the UK Wildcats.
“Oh, UK is like home,” Wilson said when asked about Kentucky. “Every time I go there I feel like I’m at home.”
Strong words from a player getting much attention and having picked up an early offer from the Wildcats.
But don’t get too excited just yet because Wilson want’s to explore every program that is showing an interest in him.
“I’ve got a lot of schools that have shown interest. So many I’ve lost count. There is Tennessee, Cincinnati, Oklahoma, Louisville, Indiana, Western Kentucky, Purdue, Middle Tennessee State, Arkansas, Alabama, Illinois, Boston College and Ball State that I can remember.”
While Wilson is trying to visit as many programs as possible he knows some might get left out.
“I’m going to Tennessee on Friday for a visit and I was at Alabama last week. But right now Kentucky is a place I’ve built a special bond with. I don’t know if that means I’ll go there but things are real special there and I really enjoy talking with the coaches when I’m there.”
Wilson had nothing but praise for coaches, facilities and the school he’s seen so far. While he’s been a three sport athlete the past couple of years this spring he’s given up track to work on getting bigger for football.
“I play football, basketball and until this year ran track. I made the choice not to do track this spring so I could visit some schools and work on getting bigger for football.”
Standing 6-foot-4, 211-pounds makes Wilson a special athlete the Wildcats would be happy to get a verbal commitment from soon. At this time Ridge holds a 3.5 GPA and has taken the test. He reports he’s not happy with his score and will retake the test this June.
“The first time I took it I didn’t really realize the time management involved with taking it. Now I know what is involved I’m ready and will look to improve my score to what I want it to be.”
We’ll continue to follow the recruiting of Ridge Wilson to give you the latest on where the Wildcats stand.
