Rolandan "Duece" Finch, 5-10, 200 pound running back from Louisville – St. Xavier School (KY.) has six offers from all over the country. Finch spoke about his offers and more specifically what he likes about the Cats.
Finch reported, "I have offers from Stanford, Louisville, North Carolina State, Kentucky, Northwestern, and Cincinnati."
One of those offers being from the state school, Kentucky, Finch said of what he knows about the Cats, "I know a lot of things going to school in the state." He went on to say, "I know a lot of people up there and have gotten a lot of information from them."
Finch has made several trips to Lexington to check out campus and get a feel for the program. He said, "I've been up for a basketball game, three football games, and a junior day." As far as what he liked about the school he explained, "I like the facilities and I know people who go there already so I could adapt quicker. I like that about it."
He added his comments about the coaching staff, "I also like the coaches especially Coach Phillips, he's a real great guy."
Finch does not really have a favorite he reported, "Not right now. I'm going to wait until I get to all of them. Right now everything is even."
While on his trips to Lexington Finch has really grown to like the campus. He said of Lexington, "Everything is real nice. The campus, the people, and every game I've been to has been a real exciting game. I really like the fans."
In addition to the campus another thing that stands out about Kentucky to Finch is the coaching staff. He said of the coaches, "I really like Coach Phillips; he is the guy who is recruiting me. The main guy is Coach Phillips, he is the guy who is recruiting me and that's who I talk to a lot."
Finch commented on what he wants out of his collegiate choice. He explained he was looking for, "Education first, then football and the coaching staff. Education is always the first thing you have to look at because football doesn't last forever."
He added, "I'm definitely going to look at the coaches, the players, and the way I fit in with the program."
He went on to talk about his plans for this summer. He said, "Our school is talking about going to a seven on seven in Louisville and maybe Kentucky." As far as the summer being his timetable for committing he said, "I really don't have one right now. I'm just waiting to see what happens and see who is serious about offering."
Many across the bluegrass state will be looking to see how Finch will perform this season. He reported of his strengths, "My strength is I can break a lot of tackles and I have a lot of speed. I feel like I have a lot of power and a lot of speed." He went on to say of his team and their goal, "We are setting a goal of a state championship as always. It's always the goal of school and we are going to go for that goal again."
Finch's school, St. Xavier, may have not only the biggest rivalry game in Kentucky, but one of the biggest in the nation. He spoke about the game against rival Trinity and commented about the chances of beating them by saying, "I hope so. I sure do hope so. We split last year, but they won the one that counts." He went on to comment about the hype behind this game by explaining, "It's crazy to have over 30,000. It's like a college atmosphere. It's probably one of the biggest high school games in the nation. To me I'm not nervous because it's my chance to play in front of a big crowd."
