ELDRIDGE: Possible transfer to UK in works?

After much speculation about a possible transfer into the Wildcat program, finally a specific name has surfaced.

Matt Pilgrim, a 6-foot-8, 230 forward could be the next Kentucky Wildcat. Pilgrim's former school, Hampton University, announced his departure earlier in the month. As a freshman, Pilgrim averaged 11 points and 5.3 rebounds. As a sophomore, he saw his numbers fall a little amid some disciplinary issues, averaging 7.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

Pilgrim is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and played as a junior at Withrow High School, averaging 16.2 points and 9.1 rebounds. After his junior season, he made his way to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, where they won the New England Prep School championship.

"He is very athletic, athletic enough that some NBA types took notice of him as a freshman," said Martin O'Brien, of the Daily Press in New Port News, Virginia. "He was injured to start his freshman season, and missed (some) games, but came on to average 11 points and 5.3 rebounds and made All-MEAC freshmen team," he said. "Pilgrim can dunk like nobody's business and has good shooting range for his size, but the rest of his game is unpolished."

Pilgrim is also the cousin of former Seton Hall coach, Louis Orr.

KSR will provide additional information as it is available.
