. As a junior he passed for 1,359 yards and ran for 735. This season he threw for 1,258 yards and rushed for 768 in only eight games because of injuries. . ''He's a one-man wrecking crew,'' Simon Kenton coach Jeff Marksberry told the Cincinnati Enquirer. ''He makes it happen in so many different ways...He can take over a game.''
Englemon also plays basketball and baseball. Besides being a tremendous athlete, he is a straight-A student and Governor's Scholar, tutors young kids, and does charity work around town. Englemon was a standout quarterback at Holmes, but the Cats recruited him primarily as a defensive back and skill player.
Some of the schools showing interest in Englemon were Michigan, Northwestern, Louisville, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Marshall, Tennessee and Nebraska. Several of the Ivy League schools have also shown interest because of his outstanding academics.
