The Wildcats are in need of a high caliber pass rusher, David Gilbert is that kind of prospect. The 6-foot-4 220 pounder made 57 tackles, eight for a loss. He also had nine sacks and blocked two kicks as last season for Northeast High School in Oakland Park Florida. "I'm a good pass rusher. I really like making tackles," said Gilbert. "I want to work on holding the run at the line; being a better run stopper," he finished.
The three-star prospect is receiving interest from several programs, but he has narrowed his choices down to a few schools. "I'm interested in Kentucky, Central Florida, Florida Atlantic, Purdue, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Louisville," he said. "Those are my favorites."
Gilbert does have a few unofficial visits that he wants to take. "I went to Central Florida today," he said. "I plan to go to UK or Connecticut and Florida Atlantic too," he said.
Gilbert doesn't know when he's going to make his decision at this time. "I don't know (when I'm going to decide) yet. Just when me and my family sit down and make my decision," said David.
Gilbert is the number 82 rated defensive end in the nation according to Scout.com.
