Where do the Cats Stand with Hazelett?

Tight end Edward Hazelett is nearing his decision while Kentucky nears it's scholarship limit. How will things play out with Hazelett's decision? KSR spoke with Ed about his options

On August 14th, 6-foot-8 tight end Edward Hazelett listed Kentucky as the leader for his services. "My favorite is UK right now. If things don't change, that might be the school I commit too," said Hazelett on that day, less than a month ago.

Unfortunately things have changed. "Actually Kentucky was my top school. My coach called the Kentucky coaches today to tell them that Kentucky was my top school," said Hazelett. "But they don't have anymore scholarships for tight ends. So UK isn't in the running anymore," he said.

Still, that isn't stopping Ed from making his decision soon. "I'll probably do it sometime this week. Probably Friday. Next Monday for sure," he said. So is it down to Louisville and Cincinnati who were previously among his leaders? "My coach is going to contact some other schools. Things can change pretty soon," he said.

Hazelett's decision may take a little longer than expected if other programs get involved.

Hazelett is a three-star prospect and the number 26 tight end in the nation according to Scout.com.
