Mike Marry Discusses his Recruitment

One of the top rated players in the Sunshine State is still receiving interest from the Wildcats. Linebacker Mike Marry speaks with KSR about his recruitment.

With Kentucky nearing the scholarship limit, they can be very selective about which players they take at this point. Mike Marry is one of those prospects that Kentucky, along with several other schools is still recruiting. "I'm still interested in all of (those schools). I need to cut my list, but it's kind of hard though," said Marry.

Some of those schools Marry mentions aside from Kentucky are: Iowa State, Central Florida, Duke, Ole Miss, West Virginia, South Florida, Stanford, Purdue, Vanderbilt and Michigan.

Marry hasn't planned his official visits at this time, but he has made a couple of unofficials. "I went to UCF and USF, but that was a while ago," he said. "I'm trying to decide if I'll take my officials during the season or after the season," he said.

Where does Kentucky fit in? "I get letters from them a lot. They have a good chance of making my final list," said Marry.

"I'm just looking for good academics. I'm looking for a school with a good football program. Not just winning, but the way they treat their players," he said.

As a junior for Largo High (Fl.), Marry was named First team All-County, and was also an All-state honorable mention after recording an amazing 152 tackles, four sacks, three interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovered.

"I think I'm a good hustle-player. I always try to get around the ball and never give up on the play. I work well with my teammates," he said. "I really need to work on staying low with my tackling. Nothing (in my game) is perfect," said Marry.

Marry is a three-star prospect and the number 26 middle linebacker in the nation according to Scout.com.
