Today is national signing day. Several programs are adding quality players to their programs today. Kentucky is no exception.

Led by five-star big man Daniel Orton, Kentucky will be inking the current number nine class in the nation according to Scout.com.

The 6-foot-10 Orton is the number three center in his class. Last season for Bishop McGuinness, Orton averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks per outing.

Gillispie will also ink Texas point guard G.J. Vilarino. Vilarino was the first commitment for Gillispie when he took over the Kentucky program in the spring of 2007.

G.J. averaged 21 points and six assists per game for McKinney High (Tx.). The 6-foot-1 lefty is expected to be one of the top point guards in Texas as a senior.

No Kentucky class would be complete without a bluegrass star. Madisonville North-Hopkins wing Jon Hood will complete a trio of prospects to sign with the Wildcats today.

Hood is rated the number eight small forward in the nation, after averaging 21 points and seven rebounds per game for the Maroons last season. Hood is the leading contender for Kentucky's Mr. Basketball award.

Kentucky will be adding the three signees to the 2009-10 roster along with transfer Matt Pilgrim.
