Kentucky Among Many Suitors For Ohio Big Man

Early in his recruitment, highly touted 2010 big man Adreian Payne has a long list of suitors which includes Kentucky. The Kentucky Sports Report has an exclusive update on Adreian Payne and his interest in the Kentucky Wildcats.

When you're a highly recruited Junior in high school, there's no need to rush a decision on where you plan to attend college. While these days more and more underclassmen are pledging to their school of choice much earlier, there are still plenty of recruits who want to take their time before making their selection.

Adreian Payne is taking his time as well.

The long and athletic 6'10" big man has a list of suitors a mile long and while there are surely some schools that stick out more than others, Adreian Payne is not ready to give a short list of any kind.

"I hear from Maryland, Dayton, Xavier, Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, West Virginia, Virginia, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgetown." Payne said.

There are a number of schools that have checked in on Adreian, so many that he can't seem to even remember them all when he was relaying to us his list. The University of Kentucky is one school that sticks out to Payne. "I like Kentucky, but I don't know a whole a lot about them. I've not been down there and met the coaches yet."

Adreian isn't sure when he will make his decision, but he wants to take some unofficial visits before he starts narrowing his list of suitors. While there were reports in late September that he would make a trip to Lexington to take in UK's Midnight Madness, he wasn't able to attend. "I was going to try to go, but it just didn't work out. I'm going to try to get down there though."

Adreian Payne is a 5 star center in the Class of 2010.
