Cats must reduce turnovers

People are saying it is a down year in the conference, but we see teams like LSU and Arkansas to at least warrant attention, so you can pick up quality wins.

People are saying it is a down year in the conference, but we see teams like LSU and Arkansas to at least warrant attention, so you can pick up quality wins. I think if Kentucky takes care of business at home and the places we go on the road where there are winnable games, then I think Kentucky will safely get into the NCAA Tournament and hopefully get a decent seed.

But this team needs to keep improving. The frustrating thing is that I don't think they are that far off. Look at the games Kentucky lost -- they turned the ball over a lot. The biggest weakness on the team is point guard, and not from a scoring standpoint like Liggins tries to do sometimes when he gets into the game but you need a constant guy to initiate the offense and they haven't found that yet. Therefore, the turnovers are up because of the inconsistency. If you turn the ball over 20 or more times in a game, more and likely you are going to lose.

They shoot well from the field, they shoot a pretty decent percentage from the 3-point line, they shoot great from the free throw line. They have two 20-point scorers in Patrick and Jodie to where you don't need a third option if those guys are clicking. You just need to take care of the basketball and other guys to fill role.

If they can just take care of the basketball, which obviously is a big thing with this team based on the problems it has had, then I think they will win a lot of games and be in good shape at NCAA Tournament time.
