"It has been a crazy year. You just have to try and find the positives out of everything, which has not been easy. I just have to deal with things the best I can, but it has not been easy."
He credits his Christian faith for helping him deal with his injury, his mom's passing and Gillispie's firing in a seven-month period.
"It has helped me so much. God has blessed me in so many different ways. He has taken away from me this year, but I understand I just have to find the positives and figure out what He is trying to do," Orton said.
"I figure the way he hurt me (with the knee injury) kind of helped me because I didn't have to play when my mother was so ill. I don't know how I would have been able to handle all of that out on the court. So that did help."
