Wildcats Still On His Mind

For this Ohio offensive lineman the offers continue to come in. So where does that place the Wildcats? We get the latest from Skyler Schofner.

When you're 6-foot-7, 285-pounds and play offensive line college coaches take notice. This has been the case for Johnstown-Monroe (Ohio) offensive lineman Skyler Schofner the past few months.

"I'm hearing a lot from Michigan State and have now been offered by Wisconsin," Schofner said by phone. "I've not had a chance to visit Wisconsin but hope to sometime this summer."

One program that has done a great job of keeping their name in front of Schofner is Kentucky.

"I talk with Coach (Chuck) Smith a lot and also with offensive line coach Jimmy Heggins. I know Coach Smith is to be stopping by our school this week."

Having visited the Wildcats for a Junior Day left a lasting impression on Schofner and a reason the Wildcats are high on his list.

"I really liked it down there when I was there. I plan on going back and check things out before I make any decision."

Kentucky not only left an impression on the player but also another key part of the recruiting process.

"My mother really liked it a lot there. The coaches and everyone we came in contact with were great and I had a chance to talk with some of the players and found them to be a great group of guys as well."

While Schofner is in no hurry to make his college choice he knows when the time is right he'll make the call.
