The 6'8" Leslie, who is ranked as the 12th best junior in the country according to Scout.com, has a lot of admirers these days. C.J. Leslie is a highly touted forward who committed to NC State in 2007 during his freshman year, but has since re-opened his recruitment. Leslie seems to be taking the process slowly this time around and has a list so long that he said he couldn't even name them all. "It's a long list. I can't remember all of them right now."
While Leslie isn't ready to relay an official list at the moment, he told me immediately what his main appeal was to Kentucky: "Coach Cal. I've talked to him quite a bit, even when he was at Memphis. I like the way he lets his players run. If you can do it, he lets you do it."
C.J. is a combo forward who says his game is a "mixture". "I like to play inside/outside. I'd say kind of like a Kevin Durant or maybe a Lamar Odom. I want to go to a school that will let me play my game. That won't want me to change a lot of things, maybe some things, but not my game."
When I asked him if his teammate, John Wall's decision would affect his college choice he said no: "Not really because we're in two different classes although it would be cool to play with him in college."
Leslie hasn't scheduled any official visits, but admits that Kentucky stands a good chance of being graced with his presence. "I probably will (visit Kentucky), but I'm not sure. I'll have to sit down and look at my options. Right now I'm just focused on finishing school."
Leslie is rated as the 4th best power forward in the 2010 class according to Scout.com
