Keeping Wildcats In His Sights

The recruiting process causes prospects from across the country to have different feelings about programs as the process passes in front of them. For David Perry one of the programs hoping to turn his head is Kentucky. Kentucky Sports Report caught up with Perry to talk about the Wildcats.

While David Perry (Fort Lauderdale/FL/Nova Sout) may not have played a lot of football you can't overlook the physical tools he brings to the field standing 6-foot-6, 230-pounds. But you can understand why the Florida native may not know a lot about all the programs he's hearing from.

"I have heard much from Kentucky lately," Perry told KSR on Sunday. "I've got them in my mind because I know they're going to come down at some time and visit me when they can."

With offers coming from rival SEC schools as well as ACC and Pac-10 programs, Perry may becoming a little overwhelmed about the process but has his sights set straight for the program that is right for him.

"I'm looking for a place to be comfortable and take my game to another level."

Could Kentucky be that place for Perry?

"I've not visited Kentucky at this time but I have plans to try to. But we'll have to see as time goes by if it all works out for me to visit. I don't know much about Kentucky but they've sent me several things in the mail."

In talking about his talents on the field the athletic Perry feels right now his speed and power are the strengths of his game while he knows coming off the ball needs to improve.

As for summer plans things are still in the works.

"My team is going to summer camps and I'll go where they go. Right now I'm not sure where that will be as we're still trying to figure out where we will be going."

While the doors not been closed David Perry is a prospect that Wildcats will have to do more work with in hopes of earning his commitment for the Class of 2010.
