Terrence Talbott Talks Kentucky

Terrence Talbott is no stranger to the recruiting process. As a member of Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne's football program, Talbott has grown up seeing players each year earn scholarship offers and head off to college. On Monday the defensive back earned an SEC offer from Kentucky.

"Coach (Chuck) Smith called my coach (Jay Minton) and told him Kentucky was offering me and my brother (Terry) scholarships. I was not able to call Coach Smith to talk with him until Tuesday but once I did he told me Kentucky is really going to work to get me there. I really enjoyed talking with Coach Smith and look forward to visiting there soon."

For Talbott the recruiting process started slow and has built over the past few weeks.

"I've got several offers like Cincinnati, Wisconsin and Michigan right now. I'm not sure of how many offers I have but it's over ten."

According to Wayne head coach Jay Minton the future college defensive back has a lot of tools.

"Terrence is a great athlete and a great young man. He's got great speed and continues to get better each day. Last year Terrence posted a 4.10 short shuttle and also a 39-inch vertical at Ohio State camp that opened some eyes. Several programs have him on their board and like what his film shows."

As for his newest offer Terrence is very excited.

"Kentucky is in the SEC. It's big and I'm very excited about learning more. Braxton (Miller) was down there for some sort of camp and I spoke with him about what he saw. And he said he was impressed. I like all the offers I have but want to visit a couple of places to get to know the coaches. But Kentucky is real high on my list."

For Talbott growing up in Big Ten country doesn't allow for much SEC football talk.

"I've really not had a chance to watch them but it's the SEC and that is "Big Time"."

While Talbott is not sure where he'll camp this summer he does know Kentucky is a place he'll make an early visit.

"I want to get down to Kentucky to see everything they have. Coach Smith said they have great facilities and I'm interested in seeing them and learning more about the university."

While undecided as to what he'll look to study in college, Terrence Talbott knows earning a degree is the main goal in college.

"I want to be at a university that has a successful football program and also show they want their athletes to earn a degree."

Kentucky Sports Report will continue to update Terrence Talbott's recruiting and interest in the Wildcats.
