In-State Linebacker Familiar With UK

Christian County (Ky.) linebacker Malcolm McDuffen has four offers to his name and more could be on their way. Currently, two of those offers come from instate schools and McDuffen has been able to visit each of them.

Malcolm McDuffen is doing his due diligence when it comes to recruiting.

The 6'3, 205-lb Hopkinsville (Ky.) Christian County linebacker has four offers and has made the effort to see most of those schools.

"I have offers from Western Kentucky, Purdue, Kentucky, Ball State," he reported, "I've visited three out of four. I haven't been to Ball State yet."

In addition to those schools, McDuffen says he is also being recruited by Illinois, Tennessee and Louisville and could be close to offers from those three.

He says his Kentucky offer came roughly a month ago. It was an offer of particular interest to him, as he has looking at the Wildcats for some time.

"I've been to Kentucky plenty of times," he said, "I've been there since 8th grade and they've always impressed me a lot."

It is not usually for middle schoolers to be coming as unofficial visitors to college football games, but McDuffen had an in.

"I had a friend who was Mr. Football, Curtis Pulley (a Hopkinsville product who subsequently committed to UK before transferring to Florida A&M). I went up there to see games with him. I was supposed to actually come to their football camp when I was in 7th grade, but I broke my knee."

While he has seen several schools already, McDuffen says he is staying in for the next few weeks.

"I don't know yet," he said of upcoming visits, "I haven't talked with my parents or coaches yet and it's a dead period."
