BALL: Super Showcase wrapup, Part 2

ORLANDO -- The Orlando Super Showcase wrapped up today with some standout play. Ron Ball wraps up his report from today with part two featuring Adreian Payne, among others. Tomorrow Ron will be covering the Orlando Nationals, which promises to feature even more Kentucky targets.

Game two featured Adreian Payne in action. Payne was limited in playing time but still showed why UK has interest. His timing on the glass is excellent and he plays more physical than one would expect looking at his frame.

Payne started the game by hitting a couple of treys which conjured up images of Walter McCarty, but the majority of his game is up around and above the rim.

His teammate, Ohio State-bound Jared Sullinger, is a beast who allowed Payne a bit of freedom to show his skills outside the paint offensively as well as allowed him to take some chances defensively.

Some surprises of the day would include Mikeal Hopkins from the 2011 class. I'm not sure who is looking at this kid but I hope UK is. I expect this player to move up the ranking quickly.

Second surprise player was Tobi Oyedeji who is a 2010 Texas A & M commit. The kid plays hard and moves well. A bit undersized but more than compenstates with movement and instinct.

And the final surprise of the day goes to Wake Forest commit Melvin Tabb. He plays for CP3 alongside much more heralded Reggie Bullock but today out played the UNC commit. The Demon Deacons got a steal here.

Tomorrow sees the AAU Nationals kicking off and we should see Tobias Harris, Johnny O'Bryant, Cameron Clark, Kyrie Irving and Jeremy Lamb in action. I'll be following these players, and others as Kentucky continues to recruit the top talent in the nation.
