Orlando Wrap Up: Final Thoughts - Part 2

A new name on my list is O'Bryant's teammate Tyler Adams. This big center has amazing agility for a player his size. He physique is reminiscent of an in shape Nazr Mohammad and is the type of player that eats plenty of lane.

A new name on my list is O'Bryant's teammate Tyler Adams. This big center has amazing agility for a player his size. He physique is reminiscent of an in shape Nazr Mohammad and is the type of player that eats plenty of lane. While O'Bryant is the name most people will know or hear, its Adams that will do the dirty work and get the job done. I'd love to see this duo in Lexington and the timing might be just right considering the need we will likely have for bigs in 2011.

The next name we will visit will be Austin Rivers. He has created a buzz with some fans around here, some associated loosely with Kentucky so I made it a point to stay late to catch his game and will try to see him tomorrow as well. I'm going to give him 20 points in the game I saw but that is a minimum as I could have missed a basket or two. I failed to keep full stats in this one, instead focused on how he played. The kid is very smooth and his cross over and misdirection moves are so quick they lead to repeated drives down the lane and he is adapt at hitting the floater in the lane. He didn't seem the outside shooter that an Irving or Lamb are but his talents are different and he plays to them. Others seemed more impressed than me which is why I need to see him tomorrow. He is a verbal to Florida in the 2011 class.

Lets wrap today with a new name, Shane Larkin. Like Rivers, he has athletic genes. From what I saw baseball genes translate well to basketball. He is still a youngster but definitely bears watching. I expect this player in the class of 2011 to develop into a very good point guard. He is super quick and has a great handle but a bit undersized at this time going against some of the bigger points in the upper age groups. Still, he more than held his own. I hope UK keeps a close eye on him. I know I will be watching.
